Reference the recent newspaper article involving the faulty fuel gauges on vehicles.. I just purchased a 2000 gm sierra p/u truck that i later found had a defective fuel level sensor inside the tank. Thinking i had a 1/2 tank of gas i got stranded on a side road 22 miles from home. It cost me a $1,000.00 to replace the unit as well as the fuel pump which are one unit. The dealer told me the problem is common on all…

I fully suggest that you do an investigation on gmc/chevy pick-up trucks. I, along with thousands of others are experiencing fuel gauge problems. The fuel gauges are going out very quickly. They constantly show that you either have a full or an empty tank when neither may be the case. You never know how much gas is in the tank. It also makes the low fuel light stay on constantly. There is currently no recall on…

Again, this is listed as standard equipment. And it was discovered within the first 100 miles of driving the vehicle that the item was not…

There solution to fix this problem is to replace plastic fitting that was supposedly eaten by a rodent. Which leads to my concern that if this could happen to me once it surely could happen again and with disastrous results. I've been in contact with…

Excessive rust from middle of under carriage on back lead part failures. One of two straps holding up gas tank, rear strap, broke and rear of gas tank dropped about 4 inches. I was not driving the truck, just noticed then gasped. I replaced the gas tank strap. Research on internet reveals excessive rust for these trucks is common. After hearing about the toyota tundras dropping a spare tire due to excessive rust, i…

Internal failure of part in fuel tank that caused the fuel gauge to not read accurately, but allowed the low fuel light to operate correctly. This part was not a part of the fuel pump, but worked in conjunction with the pump as the pump was a warranty item ,and this part was not.*ak
