My abs control module is not functioning properly. Abs is disabled and costs $1000 to replace. This is a safety hazard as the brakes can lock up at any moment or abs is disabled and may cause brakes to lock up. I bought a gmc sierra c-1500 pickup truck, new in 2001. In sept '05, the abs light came on & a humming noise could be heard even after the ignition was turned off. The odometer was at 50,000 miles, at that time. The problem was the ebcm shorted-out and needed to be replaced.
